Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh fort sit en route between Rawla Narlai and Udaipur, so it’s well worth visiting one or both of these sights if travelling between Udaipur and Rawla Narlai by car.

Kumbhalgarh fort, which comes under UNESCO’s protected Hill Forts of Rajasthan, is perched on a hilltop 1100 meters above sea level. It’s easily one of Rajasthan’s most impressive forts, dating back to 1485. The ramparts are up to 20 feet thick with a perimeter wall that extends 36 kilometers. There are over 360 temples within the fort itselfthe fort has the second-largest wall in the world, after the great wall of China.

Ranakpur Temple, on the other hand, is known for its spectacular and intricate marble Jain temple. The sight dates back to the 1400’s and its ornate carved pillars make it one of the world’s most impressive Jain temples.
