Exploring the India's Thar desert and traditional culture on your trip to Rajasthan gives you the chance to escape the big smoke and chaos for at least few days – much longer if you’re planing for First Trip to Rural Rajasthan with village stays and desert camping. You’ll be able to watch the sunset over sand dunes with a hot cup of freshly goat milk chai. You’ll get to stay in homestays, working farms, travel by 4x4 Jeep, on the back of a camel, horseback riding or even walking and hikes in countryse and share travel stories around a camp fire. As the sun begins to set the sky turns the desert into an open air planetarium with just the crackle of the fire and the call of desert foxes the only soundtrack, as you count shooting stars before settling down for 1001 dreams.

We enjoyed every moment of all the time we spent with you and your family. This was the real Rajasthan that we Marwaris had wanted to see for a very long time. The warmth and APNAPAN you showed us by having us as a guest in your house, was really special to us and we would cherish these moments and memories for all our lives. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts.

Yes, we are a very local, very small, community-based social enterprise located in Hacra Dhani in India.
Not right in a village, you will stay in purpose-built traditional huts home ‘the Jhumpa‘ in the rural desert countryside (not right in a village) more of scattered(spread out) Hamlets.
Yes please, we are happy to welcome solo travellers.
Stuff you want to bring with you probably includes sunglasses, sun protection, camera (charger + adaptor), toothbrush, head torch. It quite cold from November till mid February so bring along warm clothing in layers. If you wear contact lenses it may be easier to wear glasses throughout your stay, due to dust and sand particles.
Dress for comfort when going to ride a camel and wear longer, baggy shorts or non-slip loose trousers/pants.
Don't mount a camel like you would a pony/horse. When the camel crouches on the ground, take permission of your camel driver before climb over his hump and into the saddle. Hold on tight to the handlebar. As he extends his backlegs first and lurches forwards you lean back, then lean forward a bit as he extends his forelegs and tips back a little.
Advance booking is preferred, last minutes bookings are also welcome.
Send an e-mail or through booking form.
Last minutes booking availability over phone but reservation by email.

Watching the sunrise and sunset with only the sound of the many birds was perfect. walk in the surrounding area and ...how the locals use what grows in the desert in their daily lives. we helped with cooking and got to learn how to make aloo ghobi and chapati and chai
