Our Jawai Leopard Camp is located in an amazing wilderness area of Bera close to Jawai bandh, Away from the hustle and bustle and just half-way between Jodhpur and Udaipur. The camp has only 4 luxury tents on a private farm of 120 acres. Each safari tent is stylish, spacious and beautifully designed, making the camp a unique wildlife and farm retreat. Aside from adventures in the natural Jawai hills, there are also plenty of interesting sites and cultural experiences nearby to explore. Whether that be taking on the local children at street game, hiking to a temple for sunrise or cycling through rural landscape. A leopards hot spot, the wildlife area is known for its high population of leopards and the peaceful coexistence between these big cats and the Rabari herdsmen and other local villagers.
The camp has its own 4x4s and the host is a naturalists with great knowledge, he also trained some other locals as a safari team who operate two game drives per day: one just before sunrise and the other starts an hour or so before dusk. Times and weather varies depending on the season and months. If you're visiting during the winter months, you'll need layers to keep warm. Alongside from the leopards, there's a large variety of bird species in the area (both native and migratory), monkeys, deer, lizards and even rare porcupines. The nearby Jawai bandh (Dam) is a great spot for birdwatching, as well as a sunset high tea. The 4x4s safari gypsy are well-stocked with birding books, binoculars and bottled water, and seating capacity up to six persons.
